pictures from the trip to Hadrian's wall!
unedited.
so don't mind the raw images
we started by walking from the train station.
a kind soul gave us directions towards the fort
and it all began!
made a few wrong turns
and attempted some "short cuts"
then we realised we had to scale down the hill
Elaine!
(Meiko's sister)
this picture doesn't clearly show it
but it is pretty steep
the sheep just run down the hill
"like a boss"
now do you see how long and precipitous the hill is?
after the climb and navigation through the "swamp"
turning back to look at it only to realise it wasn't so bad
the fort
the wind wasn't kind
i know i look like some dumpling here.
(note to self : shed some fats)
Romain and I saw this. . .
and we had the exactly the same thoughts
(to push meiko down this cliff)
again, we thought about meiko
then more climbing. . .
uphill. . .
downhill. . .
we could see the rain pouring down like curtains from a distance
yes.
eventually the wind brought the rain to us.
cold hard rain that pricks you
but it was worth it!
double rainbow!
a section of Hadrain's wall was destroyed just for this quarry
the end
i only covered approximately 1/8 of Hadrian's wall.
enough i'd say.
